A statement from the IISMA organizer on Saturday featured testimonials from past awardees, Wulan Rianti and Mukhammad Jamaludin, who shared their experiences of securing scholarships to pursue master's degrees abroad through the program.
Rianti, an alumna of the 2022 IISMA program, initially used the award to study at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. Now, she's capitalizing on this success by leveraging IISMA benefits again to pursue her master's studies at the same university.
Rianti, who graduated from the Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ) Department of Business Administration, credits IISMA for opening a multitude of doors for her. These opportunities included visiting top UK industries, expanding her professional network, and ultimately obtaining a scholarship to continue her education there.
"Since the announcement of my selection for the IISMA program, I've been determined to make the most of it," Rianti said, emphasizing her commitment to using the program as a stepping stone for her future.
Beyond submitting an expression of interest, Rianti had to fulfill additional requirements like taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam, preparing a research proposal and other documents, and successfully completing the interview stage.
Meanwhile, Jamaludin, an alumnus of the Department of Automation Engineering at the Surabaya State Shipping Polytechnic, secured a 2022 IISMA award to study at Asia University in Taiwan.
He is currently enrolled in the Master's by Research program at National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, under the Research by Professor scholarship.
He attributed the opportunity to pursue his postgraduate studies in Taiwan directly to his participation in the IISMA program.
