Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), which are based on a co-funding scheme, can help more students get learning experiences in the world's best universities, the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry has said.

Registrations for the IISMA Co-Funding program opened on June 10, 2023, and will close on June 17, Head of the IISMA Program Rachmat Sriwijaya informed during the IISMA Co-Funding Dissemination event here on Monday.

The program offers an opportunity to students from various universities in Indonesia to participate in the learning process at several of the world's best universities for one semester.

The learning process of the IISMA Program has been designed to improve students' insight and competency and to give birth to quality, advanced, independent, modern, and competitive citizens who can compete on the global stage in the future.

Much like in the regular route, active students of academic and vocational universities under the ministry are eligible for joining the IISMA Co-Founding program.

To register, university students need to be at least in their fourth semester and have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0.

Students of academic universities will also need to have a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 78, IELTS score of 6.0, or Duolingo English Test score of 100.

Meanwhile, students of vocational universities would need to have a TOEFL iBT score of 60, IELTS score of 6.0, Duolingo English Test score of 95, or TOEIC score of 605.

IISMA candidates will undergo a selection process, which will include document selection and an interview, to ensure that the best students are selected for the program.

Half of the funding for the IISMA Co-Founding program will be covered by the Indonesian government through the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) scholarship. The other half will be covered independently by students.

The scholarship coverage comprises the registration cost, tuition fee, and flight cost.

The program will begin in the next semester or in August 2023 and end in January 2024. Further information about the program can be accessed on the website iisma.kemdikbud.go.id and the Instagram account @iisma.ri.
