While the recovery process is being carried out, the ministry ensured that the selection process for new KIP-K recipients in 2024 will still take place.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry ensured that the Smart Indonesia Card for College (KIP-K) recipients' backup data is safe at the data center amid disturbance at the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) 2.

"Students who receive KIP-K do not need to worry because during the process of restoring the (data) system, the ongoing KIP-K distribution for recipient students will be completed on schedule in August 2024 and without delay," the ministry's Secretary General, Suharti, remarked here on Monday.

She explained that the ministry is currently restoring the KIP-K system using the backup data to ensure that no eligible students lose their right to obtain KIP-K.

"We are striving to restore KIP-K as soon as possible, based on the backup data that we store at the ministry's data center. We also coordinate closely with universities to maintain the students' rights of KIP-K, including the new participants," she remarked.

However, she stated that the process of moving, restoring, and reconfiguring the KIP-K system with other systems in the government is time-consuming.

The process of distributing KIP-K for the entire academic semester of 2023-2024 has reached 98.8 percent. When disturbance occurred at PDNS 2, some 16,316 students had yet to obtain KIP-K.

Hence, Suharti called on universities to immediately re-identify and re-verify the data of students eligible for KIP-K, including those who have not received it, and coordinate with the Education Financing Service Center (Puslapdik).

While the recovery process is being carried out, the ministry ensured that the selection process for new KIP-K recipients in 2024 will still take place.

"The 853,393 students who have registered for the 2024 KIP-K before the system encountered disturbance will need to reclaim their accounts from July 29 to August 31, 2024," she stated.
