"There are new events compared to last year, such as the Serang Carnival with the theme 'Seven Beauty.' This did not exist last year," the office's head, Budi Setiawan, said here.
He added that the festival will not only showcase Serang village's uniqueness, but also other wonders from Mt. Slamet, Owabong, Purbasari, the Lembah Asri Tourism Village, the strawberry garden, the muffler industry, and the fake eyelash industry.
The carnival will include a fashion walk with the theme "Seven Beauty."
"A different thing this year is the art festival of Mt. Slamet. We invite districts surrounding Mt. Slamet such as Pemalang, Tegal, Brebes, and Banyumas to send their artistes to perform on the stage," he said.
According to him, the art performances are expected to have a multiplier effect on the economic sector, not only for the residents of Purbalingga, but also other districts around Mount Slamet.
He added that the event will feature micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) products and their arts, as required by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry.
Regarding the preparations for the Slamet Festival, which will be held on July 12–14, 2024, Setiawan said that his side is intensively coordinating with the Serang village government, the organizer of the event, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
He said that during discussions, his side has received several inputs from the ministry considering that the event has been listed as KEN, so it needs to follow the existing standards to be included in next year's KEN.
