"This is the third time in three consecutive years that the Reog art festival, which has long been the flagship tourism program of the Ponorogo regency government, has been included in KEN," said culture lover Reog Ponorogo Hasyim in Ponorogo, East Java, on Sunday.
KEN is the event calendar of the ministry that schedules all activities from Aceh to Papua.
In a press statement, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said that all events included in KEN 2024 have undergone strict curation.
"The 110 events will be listed in the Kharisma Event Nusantara 2024 catalog book as a form of information or guidance for the public and tourists, both local and worldwide," he added.

Uno said that before the announcement, the curation team selected the events from 38 provinces of Indonesia.
"A total of 110 events entered by KEN 2024 have been curated for three months. We should thank the curators," he added.
He further said he is optimistic that the implementation of quality KEN can serve as a promotional tool as well as a tourism driver from the local to national levels.
Based on data from the ministry, in 2023, KEN mobilized up to 7.3 million tourists, empowered tens of thousands of local workers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and generated an economic turnover of Rp12.38 trillion (around US$782.9 million).
