Addressing high school students in Jakarta on Friday, he emphasized the importance of their role in advancing the nation, especially in the creative economy sector.
Uno urged them to invest in their futures by pursuing higher education and cultivating creativity, innovation, and critical thinking to excel in a globalized world.
"Let us develop creativity and innovation through critical thinking, and I am sure you all can innovate, hone your creativity, achieve success, and face global challenges," he affirmed.
Uno also stressed the value of international experience and commended the collaboration between UNSW College and PT Unisadhuguna Education to facilitate Indonesian students to study abroad.
He highlighted the crucial role of education in developing human capital and called on parents and teachers to support students in achieving their full potential.
"I want to remind us all of the very crucial role of education, and this Jakarta Creative Day will open up the potential and talents of students," he said. "Let us support and guide our children on their journey towards a bright future."
Uno highlighted that Indonesia's creative economy is a significant contributor to the national economy, ranking third globally in terms of income, with value exceeding Rp1,400 trillion.
The sector supports 24 million jobs and generates nearly US$24 billion in exports annually. To sustain this growth, Uno underscored the need for a skilled and educated workforce.
UNSW College CEO Sarah Lightfoot expressed gratitude for the partnership and the ministry's support in enhancing Indonesia's human capital. She is optimistic that the collaboration would contribute to producing a talented generation to lead Indonesia towards its 2045 goals.
Hundreds of high school students attended the Jakarta Creative Day event, which focused on inspiring and empowering the next generation of creative leaders.
