"Child abuse is clearly illegal based on legal provision, convention, and the law. Legal problems must be processed legally," said Dhahana Putra, the ministry's Director General of Human Rights, on Wednesday.
He underscored the need to educate daycare service providers to prevent similar cases from recurring in the future.
"The education is in the form of mentoring, as victims are traumatized," he remarked.
Putra said his side will directly inspect the case by coordinating with local authorities.
"We will check on the field and coordinate with the local government's unit that handles victims of violence," he stated.
He also urged the mass media and the public to report cases of child abuse so they could be handled.
It was earlier reported that a daycare owner and social media influencer, identified with the initials MI, allegedly abused a two-year-old toddler.
