"Hopefully, we can build it soon, and disaster management throughout Indonesia can be carried out from this place as the center," he said.
The BNPB office will cover 1.5 hectares of land near the IKN Construction Workers Housing (HPK) area. The land is still in the form of land that has been matured and only has access to heavy equipment routes.
He said that the building will be based on the same environmentally friendly concept as IKN.
"We even heard from the IKN authorities that the design will be developed. That is an important note for us. In the initial stage, we will design the shape of our office to be friendly to nature," he added.
According to Suharyanto, the location of the BNPB's IKN headquarters in the central region of Indonesia is strategic and will allow every disaster from Sabang to Merauke to be monitored optimally from Nusantara.
"In the future, our office here will be centrally located, both up, down, left, right. And every disaster problem from Sabang to Merauke, from Nias to Rote Island, we can monitor it as well as possible," he said.
He noted that the land area allocated by the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) is larger compared to that of the existing BNPB office in Jakarta.
"The area is 1.5 hectares; compared to the headquarters in Jakarta, this is bigger," he said.
