He made the statement in response to queries over the continuation of IKN's development under his administration.
"We will definitely complete it," Prabowo said in a press statement with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) here on Monday.
Although it is projected that the overall IKN development plan will be completed several decades from now, Prabowo is optimistic that the new capital city will start functioning well in four to five years.
"I am optimistic, it will function very well in four to five years. I am not an engineering expert, but I see the potential," he said.
Prabowo, who is currently serving as the Defense Minister, informed that the IKN development will continue to run and be accelerated by involving experts.
"We use all of our capabilities. It is certain that the IKN development will continue," he added.
Meanwhile, President Widodo said that IKN Nusantara has clean air, in line with the target.
"We want a green capital city in terms of energy, electric vehicles, good environment, and air," he added.
He earlier said that Prabowo has agreed on a budget to accelerate IKN Nusantara infrastructure development.
"This morning, the President-elect, Prabowo Subianto, has agreed on the acceleration of infrastructure development in the Nusantara capital city. Investors do not need to hesitate about the next government's commitment (in IKN)," Widodo said at the BCA Office groundbreaking on Monday.
Currently, the government is focusing on the development of the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP).
President Widodo said that the government is responsible for building basic facilities and infrastructure at IKN, such as roads and electricity and water supply.
