The event, which will take place in Bali on September 1-3, 2024, is expected to provide solutions amid increasingly complex global challenges.
"This forum will bring together more than one thousand participants, including 31 heads of state and government, and high-ranking officials from various countries," Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MCI), Usman Kansong, stated here on Wednesday.
In addition, he revealed that representatives from international organizations, multilateral development banks, the private sector, civil society organizations, philanthropic institutions, and academia will attend the forum.
Themed "Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Development: Towards a Transformative Change," the forum is expected to offer a strategic momentum to encourage policy dialogue and strengthen global commitment to sustainable development.
This theme was chosen since the implementation of the 2030 SDGs Agenda is considered to still be far from expectations, with the percentage achievement of 15 percent of the target being on track.
In addition, several other targets are falling short, and more than half of the world's population is at risk of being left behind.
Various interconnected global crises, or polycrises, such as pandemics, social inequality, geopolitical tensions, extreme poverty, financial crises, supply chain disruptions, and environmental crises, emphasize the importance of reforming and strengthening global governance.
"Amid these multidimensional challenges, inclusive and transformative partnerships are a crucial solution," he stated.
This partnership needs to be supported by a spirit of equality in relations between developed and developing countries and the fulfillment of the rights to development. This spirit is a legacy of the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung in 1955.

Hence, HLF-MSP 2024 is prepared to encourage policy dialogue, strengthen commitment to global development through multi-stakeholder partnerships, and ensure the sustainability of development financing.
"This forum is also to identify success factors, good practices, and lessons from the implementation of multi-party partnerships in various countries, which are expected to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs," he explained.
This High-Level Forum will present various important sessions, including the Joint Session.
He remarked that the official opening of the HLF-MSP forum by the Indonesian president will be followed by the delivery of National Statements by the heads of state and government.
Moreover, a High-Level Plenary Session will discuss strengthening the potential of the Global South through multi-party partnerships.
In addition, a Thematic Parallel Session consisting of 12 parallel discussions exploring each sub-theme will be held.
Several side events will also be organized, with 16 additional sessions hosted by various stakeholders, he remarked.
Furthermore, 50 bilateral meetings will be held between participating countries on the sidelines of the forum's series.
Moreover, an exhibition will be held with participants comprising several private companies, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and other development partners, as well as cultural activities will be organized to promote Indonesian culture and culinary specialties to the HLF-MSP participants.
This event will be closed with a gala dinner that will be attended by the heads of state and government.
