HLF-MSP 2024 will open up opportunities for Indonesia to strengthen its position as a bridge for developing countries in sharing knowledge, good practices in overcoming development issues…
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Development Planning Ministry (Bappenas) has said that the 2024 High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF-MSP) could strengthen Indonesia's leadership in the international arena.

"This forum is for Indonesia to collaborate with countries in South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC), and to strengthen its leadership in the international arena," Bappenas' director of foreign policy and international development cooperation, Hendra Prabandani, said here on Monday.

According to him, the forum will serve as a strategic platform to strengthen solidarity as well as inclusive and innovative partnerships to face various global challenges and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

The global challenges include the war between Russia and Ukraine, the trust deficit between countries in carrying out multilateral cooperation, and the widening development gap between the Global South and the Global North.

"HLF-MSP 2024 will open up opportunities for Indonesia to strengthen its position as a bridge for developing countries in sharing knowledge, good practices in overcoming development issues, and revitalizing the SSTC cooperation," Prabandani said.

He added that the forum will discuss efforts to strengthen SSTC, improve welfare through sustainable economy, and development through innovative financing.

The inclusive multi-stakeholder forum is expected to overcome global development stagnation, raise innovative ideas, and strengthen cooperation between developing and developed countries.

The Indonesian government expects the participation of all parties in the forum, especially development actors such as central and local governments, the private sector, NGOs, academicians, and think tanks, to make it a success.

"HLF-MSP is expected to be one of the stepping stones to achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision," Prabandani said.

Indonesia will hold the HLF-MSP from September 1–3, 2024, in Bali with the theme of "Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships: Towards a Transformative Change."
