"We are sending an audit team and also working with the local police to examine the doctor who committed suicide," Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated when met at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Sadikin, several pieces of evidence of the alleged suicide case have also been found.
"There is evidence of her diary. We can learn about her personality in her diary. Later, we will confirm the fact. If it is proven based on reality, strict sanctions will be imposed on the responsible party," he remarked.
Sadikin also requested to evaluate the Anesthesia PPDS Undip activities at Kariadi Hospital in Semarang.
He also emphasized that bullying practices for creating strong and non-whiny workers are not allowed.
"The Anesthesia specialist education at Undip and Karyadi Hospital should be sorted out. We can produce strong workers without bullying and causing someone to die," the minister highlighted.
Earlier, the ministry's acting Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, stated that the supervision of PPDS is the responsibility of the Faculty of Medicine Specialist Education of Undip and not the Kariadi Hospital.
However, the Ministry of Health should also get involved in this case since the victim studied at the Kariadi Hospital as a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Health.
Tarmizi stated that the investigation aims to provide clarity on the element of bullying, and the result is expected to be released within a week.
On Monday (August 12), a PPDS student from Diponegoro University was found dead allegedly by suicide at her boarding house in Lempongsari, Semarang City.
The death of the victim, with the initials AR, was allegedly related to bullying at the place where she studied.
