Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated several new ministers, a new deputy minister, and new government agency heads at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

These newly inaugurated officials are:
1. Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources
2. Rosan Roeslani as Minister of Investment
3. Supratman Andi Agtas as Minister of Law and Human Rights
4. Angga Raka Prabowo as Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics
5. Dadan Hindayana as Head of the National Nutrition Agency
6. Hasan Nasbi as Head of the Presidential Communications Office
7. Taruna Ikrar as Head of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

During the inauguration, the officials took the oath of office, guided by President Jokowi: "In the name of God, I pledge that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution and carry out all applicable laws for the sake of my devotion and service to the nation and country."

According to Coordinator of the President's Special Staff, Ari Dwipayana, the appointment of these new officials is necessary to prepare and support the transition of the government to run well, smoothly, and effectively.

Here are the profiles of the ministers, deputy minister, and government agency heads:

Bahlil Lahadalia

Born in Banda, Maluku, on August 7, 1976, Lahadalia took the oath of office on Monday as the new Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, replacing Arifin Tasrif.

He was earlier inaugurated by President Jokowi as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) on October 23, 2019, and then Investment Minister on April 28, 2021.

Before serving as a minister, Bahlil Lahadalia had taken up the position of General Chair of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI) for the 2015–2019 period, reflecting his experience in the world of business.

Indeed, he has a background as an entrepreneur with 10 companies in various fields under PT Rifa Capital as the parent company.

Despite being born in Maluku, he pursued higher education in Jayapura, Papua, and earned a bachelor's degree from the Port Numbay College of Economics.

During his leadership in the Ministry of Investment, Indonesia's investment realization in 2023 reached Rp1,418.9 trillion (around US$91.12 billion).

Rosan Roeslani

Roeslani is a prominent businessman in Indonesia. He earned a double bachelor's degree in Management and General Business with a minor in Finance from Oklahoma State University in 1992 and then a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 1995.

Before being inaugurated as Investment Minister, replacing Lahadalia, he earlier served as Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) from 2015 to 2021 and was appointed as Indonesian Ambassador to the United States in 2021.

The man, who was born in Jakarta on December 31, 1968, is an honoree of the Henry G. Bennett Distinguished Fellows Program of Oklahoma State University, which honors individuals with outstanding contributions to Oklahoma State University and nations.

After serving as ambassador, he was appointed as Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises in 2023 but then resigned in the same year as he was assigned the role of National Campaign Team leader for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.

Supratman Andi Agtas

Agtas is a politician from the Gerindra Party who earlier worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi, from 1998 to 2012, and served as a lawyer from 1996 to 1998.

He completed his law education at two universities in Makassar: the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) for his bachelor's degree and doctoral degree and Hasanuddin University for his master's degree.

The man, who was born on September 28, 1969, in Soppeng, South Sulawesi, started his career in politics as a member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2014–2019 period and then a member of Commission VI of the DPR in the 2019–2024 period.

During the two periods, he served as Head of the Legislative Body of the DPR.

Agtas has been inaugurated as the new Minister of Law and Human Rights, replacing Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly.

Angga Raka Prabowo

The Indonesian government has officially increased the number of deputy ministers of communication and informatics to two with the inauguration of Angga Raka Prabowo.

Earlier, there was only one deputy minister, namely Nezar Patria.

Angga is a politician from the Gerindra Party led by current Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

He previously served as Head of Communication and Director of Campaign Media at the National Campaign Team of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka for the 2024 presidential election.

He joined Gerindra in 2008 and became part of the party's media team in 2012. Angga was then appointed as Prabowo's secretary from 2014 to 2017.

Dadan Hindayana

Hindayana, who has been inaugurated as the head of the newly formed National Nutrition Agency, is a lecturer of the entomology postgraduate program at the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in plant protection from IPB University in 1990 and then continued his education at the University of Bonn, Germany, in the field of Applied Entomology and graduated in 1997.

He also pursued education at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany, and graduated in 2000. Furthermore, Hindayana completed his doctoral degree education at IPB University.

Based on data from the Science and Technology Index (Sinta) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, he is recorded to have a score of 643.

Hasan Nasbi

Nasbi, who has been inaugurated as Head of the Presidential Communications Office, is a political observer and founder of the Cyrus Network survey institute.

Born in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, in 1979, he was earlier a member of the Synchronization Task Force for President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka's government.

The Presidential Communications Office is formed based on Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2024 on Presidential Communications Office, created to realize effective implementation of the president's strategic communications and information in a synergistic and integrated manner.

Taruna Ikrar

The newly inaugurated head of the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), Taruna Ikrar, is a doctor and pharmacy, heart, and nerve specialist who studied at Hasanuddin University, Makassar, from 1988 to 1997.

He then studied pharmacology at the University of Indonesia (UI) for the 1998-2003 period and studied at Niigata University, Japan, from 2004 to 2008 in the field of cardiovascular studies.

Furthermore, he studied anatomy and neurobiology at the University of California, the US, from 2008 to 2013, and then became a researcher at the institution from 2013 to 2016.
