Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi on Monday inaugurated Prabu Revolusi as Director General of Public Information and Communication to replace Usman Kansong.

The inauguration was carried out in a closed setting at the Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) building in Jakarta.

In a doorstop interview after the inauguration, Revolusi stated that his position necessitates him to build public communication and disseminate information in the era of technological disruption.

Prabu Revolusi, whose full name is Prabunindya Revta Revolusi, was born in Bandung, West Java, on June 16, 1980. He completed his undergraduate education in the field of engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2004.

He continued his master's studies in communications at the Paramadina University in 2007. He thereafter obtained a doctorate degree from Sahid University in 2022.

Revolusi is known more for serving as a news anchor. He joined Metro TV in June 2008.

He thereafter moved to CNN Digital, where he served as a senior anchor from 2015 to 2019 and as Digital Content Enrichment Manager in 2019.

In 2021-2023, Revolusi joined MNC Media to take the role of Vice President of Business Development and Company Secretary as well as News Director.

In addition to establishing a career in the media sector, he also served the government as staff to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy in 2020-2021.

He was involved in the National Winning Team of the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD presidential candidate pair as Deputy for Communication in the 2024 General Election.

However, he soon left the team and shifted to the number 3 candidate pair, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Before being appointed as Director General of Public Information and Communication, Revolusi also served as an Independent Commissioner at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional.
