Jakarta (ANTARA) - Prospective Jakarta governor Ridwan Kamil on Monday shared his vision for the city after the capital shifts to IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan.

"This coalition has the same name as the slogan, namely the 'New Jakarta Coalition towards Advanced Jakarta,'" he informed.

He also conveyed this to Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka during a joint declaration with his running mate Suswono ahead of the regional election.

According to Kamil, the vision aims to set a new direction for Jakarta after the capital relocation through the re-imagination of "new Jakarta" as "advanced Jakarta."

He said that the coalition is also expected to reflect the spirit of reconciliation for opposing parties during the presidential election

"We will work hard to provide political communication to maximize our vision and mission for the next five years," he added.

The former West Java governor expressed the hope that political communication can help resolve residents' complaints regarding the problems in Jakarta.

Later, all the complaints will be accommodated in an activity between the government and residents, which will be entitled "Jakarta re-imagination," he informed.

A total of 12 political parties have officially signed a charter supporting the nomination of Kamil-Suswono as a prospective candidate pair in the 2024 Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election.

The parties are the Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, Prosperous Justice Party, NasDem Party, National Awakening Party, Indonesian Solidarity Party, Democratic Party, National Mandate Party, Garuda Party, Gelora Party, Perindo Party, and United Development Party.

The 12 parties are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus, a coalition that supported Prabowo Subianto and Gibran in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Regional elections to elect governors, mayors, and district heads will be held simultaneously across Indonesia on November 27, 2024.
