Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has launched its representative office in Sydney to support the strengthening of bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Indonesia and Australia.

"As a state-owned bank, BNI has a responsibility to provide the best banking services for the people and facilitate trade, investment, and economic relations between Indonesia and its global partners," BNI CEO Royke Tumilaar said in a statement on Thursday.

Through the new office branch in Sydney, BNI aims to serve international customers, support trade and investment, and assist Indonesian and Australian businesses.

"The business relations between Indonesia and Australia are growing rapidly, and we want to ensure that we are at the forefront to support every opportunity and challenge," Tumilaar said.

He said he expects the representative office in Sydney to help increase business and economic cooperation between Indonesia and Australia, as well as with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The BNI office in Sydney will provide investment advisory services, including market information, introductions to potential investors, and banking solutions for strategic investments.

It will also serve as an information center for Indonesian and Australian entrepreneurs seeking to explore new business opportunities.

By holding seminars, workshops, and networking sessions, BNI will bring together business players from both countries to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.

BNI Sydney will work closely with embassies, consulates, and other entrepreneurial organizations to support government initiatives to boost bilateral trade and investment.

Besides Sydney, BNI has so far set up overseas offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, London, Amsterdam, and New York.

The President Director of ANTARA News Agency Akhmad Munir also attended the launching ceremony in Sydney.
