He made these remarks during a speech marking the 79th anniversary of the TNI AL in Jakarta on Tuesday, which was broadcast on the VP Secretariat's YouTube channel.
"With its extraordinary dedication and service, the TNI AL is irreplaceable in maintaining peace and stability in the archipelago's territorial waters," he said.
"From time to time, from physical struggles to cyber threats, from geopolitical dynamics to the pandemic, the navy has consistently been at the forefront of safeguarding Indonesia's maritime sovereignty," he added.
He noted that as the TNI AL enters its 79th year, it will become stronger and more prepared to face future challenges.
To achieve this, the navy must prioritize technological transformation, human resource development, and operational readiness, he emphasized.
"This will make Indonesia's maritime power a respected force both regionally and internationally," he said.
"Happy 79th anniversary to the TNI AL; may it continue to grow stronger, remain professional, and always lead in protecting Indonesia's seas," he added.
Amin also invoked the TNI AL's motto, "Jalesveva Jayamahe" (Our Glory is in the Seas), in his speech.
Earlier, to celebrate its anniversary, the navy opened its bases on Saturday to showcase its defense systems, including warships, amphibious tanks, and tactical vehicles, to the public.
"We opened several bases to raise public awareness that we are a maritime and archipelagic nation," Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali said at a press conference in Jakarta on September 7.
