Abdullah said the party will also support Prabowo even if no minister or official from PDIP gets into his upcoming cabinet.
"The point is, the safety of the nation and the prosperity of the people is invaluable," Abdullah stated at the parliament complex here on Friday.
He also commended Prabowo's Gerindra Party which has said that the upcoming cabinet would comprise professionals, also known as the "Zaken Cabinet."
However, Abdullah said that this does not mean ministers from political parties are not professional.
He said that some ministers who are currently in office are also professionals in their field.
"Let us say (Industry Minister) Agus Gumiwang, (Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs) Airlangga Hartarto, and (Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform) Azwar Anas. They are all professionals in their fields," he stated.
Nevertheless, he ensured that legislators at the House of Representatives (DPR) would always supervise the performance of each minister.
"Periodically, every three months, the ministers have a working meeting with the DPR. We can know their performance from there," he remarked.
Earlier, Deputy Chair of the executive board of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that Prabowo is finalizing the number of ministries in his cabinet ahead of his incoming presidency.
"Mr. Prabowo is still concentrating on working on the composition of ministers and carrying out profiling on who will enter the cabinet," he noted on Thursday (September 12).
He affirmed that the future cabinet will have more professionals than figures from Prabowo's coalition parties.
