Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will organize the 2024 Indonesia-South and Central Asian Business Forum (INASCA) in Jakarta in October, according to the Foreign Ministry's Directorate General of Asia-Pacific and African Affairs.

"We expect the forum to be an effective platform for Indonesia and South and Central Asian business actors," director general Abdul Kadir Jailani said at the 2024 INASCA press briefing here on Friday.

The forum, which will be themed "Unlocking Potential and Fostering Economic Partnership," will seek to explore untapped business potential in the South and Central Asian regions, he informed.

He added that the forum will promote economic collaboration and business opportunities between Indonesia and the regions, as well as help forge partnerships and increase trade, investment, and tourism.

He said that he expects the forum to help bolster connectivity and people-to-people contact between Indonesia and South and Central Asian countries. It is also hoped that new tourism packages would be developed by stakeholders during the forum, he added.

The 2024 INASCA will help Indonesian businesses learn about the economic situation and market potential in the South and Central Asian regions with the hope that they will expand their businesses to these areas in the future, Jailani said.

The forum is expected to help South and Central Asian businesses experience the quality, innovation, and added value of Indonesia-made products, he added.

Meanwhile, the ministry's director for South and Central Asia, Jatmiko Heru Prasetyo, said that the forum will be an annual agenda to help bolster regional relations.

The event agenda will include business matching and an exhibition involving business actors from Indonesia and South and Central Asia, he added.
