Mataram (ANTARA) - A parade of MotoGP racers on several arterial roads in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), drew large crowds on Wednesday.

The event featured world-renowned racers such as Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez, Fabio Quartararo, Jorge Martin, Enea Bastianini, Pedro Acosta, Franco Morbidelli, Maverick Vinales, Alex Rins, and Indonesia’s own Moto2 racer, Mario Aji.

Held to promote the Mandalika Grand Prix, scheduled for September 27–29 in Central Lombok, the racers rode in special cars from Sangkareang Field to Udayana Terrace, waving to spectators lining the streets.

At the final stop, the multinational racers took the stage to greet fans eagerly awaiting their arrival.

NTB's acting governor, Hassanudin, praised local residents for their enthusiastic support.

"I’m thrilled to see the community’s excitement in backing and ensuring the success of this event," he said.

He expressed optimism that the upcoming Mandalika MotoGP would make Indonesia, particularly NTB, proud.

Spectators showed their support for the prestigious motorcycle race by waving small Indonesian and MotoGP flags along the route.

Evita, a local resident, shared her excitement about finally witnessing the parade after missing out last year.

"We missed last year’s parade, but this time we made it. God willing, I’ll also be watching the MotoGP race," she added.
