Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Embassy in Beirut has evacuated 14 more Indonesian nationals from Lebanon amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Judha Nugraha, Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the group—10 men and 4 women—was evacuated on October 9.

"They safely arrived in Indonesia on October 10," he said in a statement issued on Friday.

This evacuation marked the sixth in a series of operations to evacuate Indonesians from Lebanon.

After arriving in Indonesia, the evacuees were transported to their hometowns with assistance from relevant ministries and agencies.

During the sixth wave of evacuations, the evacuees were flown from Beirut to Jakarta, with transits in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Previously, the government had evacuated 65 Indonesians and one foreign national in five evacuation waves since August 10.

"The total number of people successfully evacuated from Lebanon is 79 Indonesian citizens and one foreign national," Nugraha stated, adding that 85 Indonesians still remain in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, 17 Indonesian migrant workers and members of the diaspora, who are married to foreign nationals, have returned independently, either at company or personal expense.

The Indonesian Embassy in Beirut declared an Alert I status for all of Lebanon on August 4.

Intensive coordination to establish a contingency plan, including evacuation routes, has been conducted with relevant representatives, including the Indonesian embassies in Amman, Beirut, Damascus, Cairo, and Rome.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to urge Indonesians in Lebanon to remain vigilant, avoid vulnerable areas or large gatherings, limit unnecessary movement, and follow the contingency instructions from Indonesian embassies.

The ministry has also advised Indonesian citizens planning to travel to high-risk areas, such as Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen, to postpone their trips until the situation improves.
