Jakarta (ANTARA) - Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita announced on Friday that Indonesia secured business agreements worth over US$10 million at the Manufacturing World Osaka (MWO) trade show in Japan from October 2 to 4.

"Indonesia's participation in the Manufacturing World Osaka international exhibition this year generated impressive results," he stated.

Kartasasmita noted that the establishment of cooperation with Japanese companies demonstrates that Indonesian industrial technology and innovation are increasingly recognized on a global scale.

He expressed optimism that these agreements will create greater investment opportunities, accelerate Industry 4.0 in the country, and enhance the domestic industry's competitiveness in the international market.

"These agreements reflect not only the potential of Indonesian products but also the trust that foreign parties have in the quality and competitiveness of the national industry. This success should motivate industry players," he said.

For the trade show, the ministry brought 10 Indonesian companies, including software developer Ragdalion Technology and fastener manufacturer PT Inti Karya Semesta (Wilson Fastener).

Eko Cahyanto, the ministry's acting director of international industrial resilience, regionalization, and access, explained that Indonesia's participation in the trade show is part of efforts to attract foreign investors, which include market assessments of investment potential and opportunities in Indonesia.

He added that to increase cooperation opportunities, the exhibitors actively visited the booths of Japanese companies that are considered potential buyers.

"This event is an opportunity for them to better understand the needs of the Japanese market and the current trends in the manufacturing industry," Cahyanto stated.

With this approach, Indonesian industry players are expected to be more prepared to meet the expectations and needs of international buyers, he added.
