Palu, C Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The 2024 Lake Poso Festival, proof of the cultural and natural wealth in Poso, Central Sulawesi, is able to become a sustainable economic driving force, Law and Human Rights Minister Supratman Andi Agtas stated.

"Lake Poso has so many resources that can support the regional and national economy. Of course, this has become our concern to continue to develop it," Minister Agtas noted in his statement received here on Saturday.

On Friday (October 11) evening, Minister Agtas attended the 2024 Lake Poso Festival held alongside the 2024 National Movement for Products Made in Indonesia (Gernas BBI) and Proud to Travel in Indonesia (BBWI) events.

The minister said the festival, held along with the 2024 Gernas BBI-BBWI, is clear evidence that Poso's cultural and natural wealth will become a driving force for sustainable economic development.

Moreover, Lake Poso, which offers scenic views to tourists and with an area of 36 thousand hectares, is the third-largest lake in Indonesia.

The area has the potential to become a world-class creative industry and economic development area to support the national economy.

Agtas said the festival is an event to promote local products and the natural beauty of Poso.

"It is important to support domestic products and develop the local tourism potential," the minister noted.

The minister also underscored the importance of collaboration between the government, business actors, and the community in advancing the local economy through products made in the country and boosting domestic tourism.

This festival is being held for three days on October 11-13 at the Lake Poso Pavilion, Tentena, Poso District.
