Sri Mulyani, who was met after meeting Prabowo at his residence in Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, Monday, said that had a long discussion with the President-elect about the State Budget, strengthening the Ministry of Finance, state spending and management of state revenues including taxes.
"We had a long and extensive discussion with him. Therefore, when the cabinet was formed, he asked me to become finance minister again," Sri Mulyani said.
In her meeting with Prabowo, Sri Mulyani admitted to receiving several messages, especially regarding the priorities of the next Indonesia's government.
"He is very concerned about the impact of the State Budget on the community. That is his pressure," she noted.
Sri Mulyani, who served as finance minister during President Joko Widodo's two terms in office, arrived in Kertanegara at 19:30 p.m. local time.
In addition to her, several ministers in President Widodo's administration, including Home Minister Tito Karnavian, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Raja Juli Antoni, as well as State Secretary Pratikno were also seen visiting Prabowo.
Since Monday at 15.00 until 20.30 p.m., Prabowo has summoned his ministerial candidates who were figures from professionals, academics, politicians, bureaucrats, religious figures, high-ranking officials of community organizations, active police officials as well as former soldiers, to his private residence in Kertanegara to talk about their assignments in the next government cabinet.
