Bogor City (ANTARA) - Former Bogor Mayor Bima Arya confirmed that President-elect Prabowo Subianto has instructed him to focus on political and administrative matters in the soon-to-be-formed Cabinet.

"Mr. Prabowo thanked me for my willingness to join his Cabinet for the incoming government. He specifically tasked me with focusing on issues related to politics and governance," Arya said after visiting Prabowo's residence in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Although he did not disclose details about the Cabinet position he will hold, Arya emphasized that the tasks assigned to him align with his expertise and experience as an academic, political observer, and two-term mayor of Bogor.

According to Arya, the president-elect has asked him to conduct studies on the general election system to make it more efficient.

"I believe this is a crucial issue because we have heard many complaints in the field," he said.

On Tuesday, Prabowo also met with candidates for deputy ministerial positions and heads of national agencies.

In addition to Arya, Prabowo summoned Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pahala Mansury, Indonesian Ambassador to the UN Arrmanatha Nasir, and badminton legend Taufik Hidayat.

Earlier on Monday, the president-elect met with 49 individuals, including politicians, religious figures, academics, and current ministers, to discuss their roles in his administration.
