Jakarta (ANTARA) - President-elect Prabowo Subianto has planned to install three deputy ministers to assist Sri Mulyani Indrawati in continuing her current duty as finance minister under the incoming cabinet.

Deputy ministers Thomas Djiwandono and Suahasil Nazara, following their audience with Prabowo here on Tuesday, confirmed that they will continue in their existing roles as the president-elect required their expertise in his cabinet.

They will be joined by economist Anggito Abimanyu, poised to be the third deputy finance minister in Prabowo's cabinet after also being summoned by him on the day.

"Our trio is tasked with helping the finance minister. The president-elect conveyed a lot of messages to us, one of them is to help him optimize the state revenue," Djiwandono stated.

Djiwandono echoed the president-elect's keenness to increase state revenues under his leadership. He remarked that Prabowo took as an example the case of Cambodia, whose revenue from taxation reaches 18 percent of the state revenue.

"We are asked to exert our work and strategies through our policies to achieve the goal," the deputy minister remarked.

Meanwhile, Abimanyu confided that his upcoming duty as deputy minister will be extensive and challenging.

"My incoming responsibility is not only to maintain stability but is to (also) optimize the state budget to realize sustainable economic growth," Abimanyu remarked.

The trio was among the 59 figures nominated as deputy ministers or heads of government agencies summoned by Prabowo on Tuesday.

Earlier, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati confirmed on Monday that she had been reassigned as finance minister in the next cabinet, making her the nation's longest-serving female cabinet minister.

Indrawati spoke of having engaged in a lengthy discussion with Prabowo about the State Budget, strengthening the Ministry of Finance, state spending, and management of state revenues, including taxes, during her audience.

She was among the 49 figures nominated as ministerial candidates invited to meet President-elect Prabowo Subianto at his residence on Monday.
