Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono, informed that state guests invited to the inauguration of the new President and Vice President will begin arriving in Indonesia on Saturday (October 19, 2024).

"Based on information, the state guests will begin to arrive on October 19. They consist of state guests and friends based on a special invitation from President-elect Prabowo Subianto," he informed at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Friday.

According to Hartono, state guests from 20 countries have confirmed their attendance along with one UN envoy and 13 special representatives of the head of state.

"We have prepared this together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ranks of the Indonesian Air Force, Halim Air Force Base, and authorities of Soekarno-Hatta Airport," he added.

Furthermore, he asked the DKI Jakarta provincial government to broadcast the arrival of the state guests via videotrons across Jakarta.

On Sunday (October 20, 2024), the provincial government will eliminate the car-free day and instead, set up a public entertainment stage along the road that will be passed by the President- and Vice President-elect on their way from the parliament complex to Merdeka Palace.

"We have asked the provincial government to replace it (car-free day) with public entertainment. We have prepared approximately 13 points for the public to celebrate the inauguration of our new President," Hartono informed.

He expressed the hope that building owners in the Sudirman-Thamrin area will mobilize their employees to enliven the event around Sudirman-Thamrin.

After the farewell event at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Sunday night, some state guests will be hosted by the President-elect.

Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be sworn in as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Nusantara Building, Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on October 20. Their term will end in 2029.
