"Yes, of course, there will be some kind of procession, a farewell ceremony, at the palace. There will be some troops (stationed)," Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono told the media at the palace on Friday.
Hartono revealed that based on the plan, President Jokowi will first attend the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the eighth president and 14th vice president at the Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on the same day.
He noted that the head of state would then return to the Presidential Palace to prepare to welcome his successor in a handover ceremony before receiving the farewell procession and leaving for his hometown of Solo, Central Java.
Prabowo will then head to the Presidential Palace in the company of a motorcade after taking his oath of office, he added.
The presidential secretariat chief further stated that the Jakarta provincial government had set up 13 entertainment stages for the public along the route to be taken by Prabowo and his entourage to the palace.
"(Prabowo) will surely be able to greet residents," he remarked while noting that his side would allocate some space at the palace complex to accommodate approximately one thousand people keen to be part of the Jokowi-Prabowo meeting.
Moreover, Hartono remarked that members of the public would also be able to remotely witness the planned series of state activities on television channels and large electronic screens installed across Jakarta.
