Meanwhile, President Prabowo said that Indonesia wishes to be a friend to all countries as well as a good neighbor by upholding the anti-colonial principle.
He conveyed the statement in his inaugural speech at the Nusantara Building in the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Sunday.

He emphasized that under his leadership, Indonesia's foreign policy will be to be a good neighbor. "We want to be a good neighbor," he said.

Prabowo, 73, and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, 37, took the oath of office for the 2024–2029 term at the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) plenary session on Sunday. The pair said they are committed to dedicating their lives to the interests of the nation.
Besides Malaysia, the heads of state/ministers of other countries, such as Germany, Qatar, Thailand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Laos, Vietnam, Vanuatu, Brunei Darussalam, Timor Leste, Serbia, and China, also attended the Prabowo-Gibran inauguration ceremony.
