Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto sought the Indonesian people's prayers to carry out his duties and government programs during the first 100 days of his term.

"Yes, (please) pray for the best. Thank you," he said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, after seeing off former president Joko Widodo, who flew to his hometown in Solo, Central Java, on Sunday.

Prabowo has on several occasions emphasized that he wants to get straight to work — including fulfilling his campaign promises, which have been incorporated in 17 priority programs and eight immediate result programs.

Prabowo believes his and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's vision and mission can be realized by implementing the priority programs.

The programs cover self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water; improvement of the state revenue system; political, legal, and bureaucratic reform; prevention and eradication of corruption; as well as poverty eradication.

In addition, Prabowo and Gibran will push the prevention and eradication of narcotics; guarantee the availability of health services and provide medicines for the people; strengthen education, science, technology, as well as digitalization; boost national defense and security; and work to maintain conducive international relations.

They have also promised to strengthen gender equality and protect the rights of women, children, and people with disabilities; advance environmental preservation; ensure the availability of fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides directly to farmers; as well as guarantee cheap housing and sanitation for rural communities and people in need.

Prabowo has also promised to achieve economic equality; strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the development of the new capital Nusantara; and continue downstreaming and industrialization based on natural and maritime resources to open up the widest possible employment opportunities for realizing economic justice.

Some other programs of Prabowo-Gibran include ensuring harmony between religious communities, freedom of worship, and maintenance of places of worship; preserving arts and culture; increasing the creative economy; and improving sports achievements.
