Jakarta (ANTARA) - New Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has expressed his readiness to continue transportation connectivity development to support logistics mobility and community accessibility.

"Of course, we will continue, collaborate, and improve good programs that have been running to achieve the 8 Asta Cita missions toward Golden Indonesia 2045," he said here on Monday.

Former transportation minister Budi Karya Sumadi handed over the Transportation Ministry office in Jakarta to Purwagandhi on Monday.

Purwagandhi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and contribution of Sumadi during his two terms, namely 2016–2019 and 2019–2024.

During the period, the Ministry of Transportation made various achievements, which included an 89 percent public satisfaction rate for Eid al-Fitr homecoming activities during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, under Sumadi's leadership, the ministry forged the Flight Information Region (FIR) agreement with Singapore. Indonesia also managed a Universal Security Audit Program-Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA) score of 88.53 percent, higher than the world average.

Purwagandhi called on all ministry staff to maintain their spirit in continuing the development of transportation connectivity, improving safety, and providing transportation services.

Meanwhile, Sumadi welcomed the new minister, expressing optimism that Purwagandhi would help the Ministry of Transportation progress further.

He said that the ministry needs strong synergy and collaboration to continue to improve services, improve infrastructures, and develop transportation that is more efficient and environmentally friendly.

He also expressed gratitude to all ministry staff for their dedication and hard work, which allowed the mandates in the transportation field to be carried out well.

Furthermore, he said he hopes that the vision and missions of the new government will be implemented well by the new minister and be supported by all staff.
