The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 140P of 2024 concerning the Appointment of Special Advisors to the President.
"With the grace of God Almighty, the president of the Republic of Indonesia considers, decides, and determines the appointment of special presidential advisors," Deputy for Apparatus Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of State Secretary, Ninik Purwanti, remarked at the State Palace reading the Presidential Decree.
The following are the seven special presidential advisors inaugurated by Prabowo:
1. Special Advisor for Politics and Security General (ret.) Wiranto S.H.M.M.
2. Special Advisor for Digitalization and Government Technology General (ret.) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
3. Special Advisor for National Defense, Chairman of the Defense Industry Policy Committee General (ret.) Prof. Dr. Dudung Abudrachman SE MM.
4. Special Advisor for Economic Affairs and National Development Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro.
5. Special Advisor for Energy Prof. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, M.Sc., M.A.
6. Special Advisor for Hajj Muhadjir Effendy.
7. Special Advisor for National Health Lieutenant General (ret.) Prof. Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, Sp.Rad(K).
Earlier, Indonesia's 7th President Joko Widodo stipulated Presidential Regulation Number 137 of 2024 concerning the Presidential Special Advisors, Presidential Special Envoys, Presidential Special Staff, and Vice Presidential Special Staff.
Widodo signed the stipulation of the presidential regulation on October 18, 2024.
The presidential special advisors and presidential special envoys are tasked with supporting the president's duties.
They carry out certain tasks the president assigns, excluding those covered in the organizational structure of ministries and other government agencies.
Earlier on Monday (October 21), Prabowo also officiated 48 ministers and 55 deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
