The 2024 Jakarta Film Week (JFW), held on October 23-27, served as a valuable platform for Indonesian filmmakers to hone their competitiveness at the international level, according to Culture Minister Fadli Zon.
"This event also provides an opportunity for local filmmakers to earn recognition, broaden their networks, and introduce their work to domestic and global audiences," he noted in a statement received from his office in Jakarta on Tuesday
Zon observed that the fourth edition of the annual festival also acted as a crucial pillar that supports the development of the Indonesian film sector.
He then stated that the Ministry of Culture supported the implementation of the new JFW Net program during the event, deeming it a platform that could help strengthen the film landscape in Indonesia.
At the 2024 JFW, the JFW Net program offered a plethora of activities focused on national and international film industries, such as a workshop, seminars, focus group discussions, and a pitching forum.
