Forsa IKN Chairman Ariasa Hadibroto Supit stated on Tuesday that their October 28 discussion with Jokowi emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the community to ensure inclusivity and sustainability.
During the meeting, Supit noted that Jokowi suggested establishing a sustainable center for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Supit added that the meeting reinforced Forsa IKN’s commitment to overseeing the Nusantara project for the next two decades.
"Overseeing the IKN Nusantara project is not only about preserving Jokowi's legacy; it’s about safeguarding the symbol of Indonesia's future civilization. Generation Z and Gen Alpha will have a vested interest in IKN. This is a national undertaking," Supit remarked.
He further emphasized that the joint forum prioritizes transparency, public participation, and sustainability.
"These fundamental values must be integrated into every aspect of IKN’s development. With this approach, the project becomes not only an infrastructure endeavor but also a new national identity grounded in democratic values," he said.
To this end, the forum will continue to encourage community involvement in the development of Nusantara.
"We’re gathering input from various regions to foster a sense of belonging among citizens. This sense of belonging is essential to reduce resistance to the project and improve the likelihood of successful implementation," Supit stated.
By actively involving the community, the development will better reflect the people's needs and expectations, thereby increasing the project’s legitimacy, he said.
