"Tomorrow, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) will hold an event to sign contracts in the field of science between Chinese and Indonesian companies (with value) amounting to more than USD10 billion," he remarked during a bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
The meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, on Saturday as part of Prabowo's state visit to China.
The Indonesian president is also scheduled to meet President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji.
"I laud PM Li's statement that we need to take practical steps and I think with practical steps, we can move very quickly," Prabowo remarked.
Prabowo noted that investment from Chinese companies in Indonesia is currently very large.
"This shows collaboration and an increasing participation of Chinese companies for the benefit of the two countries," he affirmed.
Moreover, Prabowo said Indonesia and China will celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
"As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (next year), I want to convey that there is a significant increase in all fields of cooperation," he affirmed.
During the meeting, Premier Li said that the fact that Prabowo chose China as the first country of his overseas visit after being inaugurated as president signifies the importance of China-Indonesia relations.
"This visit reflects how important the president's and his government's attention is to the development of China-Indonesia relations. Through joint efforts, China-Indonesia relations continue to improve and enter a new stage in building a community with a shared future," Premier Li stated.
