Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has described the cooperation agreements signed during the Indonesia-China Business Forum (ICBF) 2024 as mutually beneficial for the two countries.

"The cooperation established in ICBF 2024 will be a good example for other countries in the region in building mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation," he said in a statement released on Monday.

The forum, organized by the China committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) on Sunday, was also joined by President Prabowo Subianto, who was in Beijing on a state visit.

During the forum, cooperation agreements were signed between a number of Indonesian companies and Chinese corporations, with the value of investment reaching US$10 billion.

The cooperation agreements include the development of new and renewable energy projects, such as integrated hydroelectric power plants, as well as the development of other clean energy-supporting infrastructure.

Lahadalia stated that the collaboration is expected to increase Indonesia’s clean energy production capacity and strengthen national energy security.

He added that ICBF 2024 represents significant momentum for Indonesia to attract foreign direct investment for the development of a sustainable energy sector.

Collaboration with China, he continued, will help Indonesia accelerate efforts to ensure that at least 60 percent of the country’s power plants use renewable energy within the next 10 years.

At ICBF 2024, several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on energy were signed, including one between state electricity company PLN and SDIC Power Holdings Co. Ltd.

PLN also agreed to collaborate with PT Huawei Tech Investment to study the acceleration of digital transformation in the electricity industry to support the energy transition in Indonesia.

President Prabowo earlier said that close collaboration between Indonesia and China would be a factor in stabilizing and enhancing regional cooperation.

"I must give an example that in this modern era of collaboration, non-confrontation is the path to peace," he said. "We always take a neutral stance; we always respect all the great powers in the world."
