Jakarta (ANTARA) - The ASEAN Secretariat announced ASEAN’s participation in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, from April 13 to October 13, 2025.

During the expo, ASEAN will highlight its regional cooperation efforts and showcase the diversity and dynamism of the Southeast Asia region, as noted in a release issued by the ASEAN Secretariat and received here on Friday.

"Expo 2025 provides ASEAN a unique platform to share our story of unity, progress, and sustainability with a global audience," Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Corporate and Community Affairs and Commissioner-General of Section of the ASEAN Secretariat at the World Expo 2025 Nararya Soeprapto stated.

"We look forward to welcoming visitors to the ASEAN Pavilion, where they can learn about our rich cultural heritage, economic development, and commitment to a shared future," he added.

Embracing the “Building Bridges” theme, the ASEAN Pavilion will feature various exhibits, informative displays, interactive activities, cultural performances, and thematic programs that underscore the region’s strengths and aspirations in fostering connections rather than divisions.

Other ASEAN member states, such as Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, will also participate in the upcoming Expo.

The World Expo is a global gathering of nations dedicated to finding solutions to the pressing challenges of our time by offering a journey through a universal theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

Held every five years, the ASEAN participated in the Expo Dubai 2020, drawing over 300 thousand visitors from the region and beyond.

ASEAN’s participation in the World Expo 2025 Osaka is supported through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
