Voting for the Pilkada will be held on November 27, 2024, and will take place simultaneously in 37 provinces, 415 districts, and 93 cities in Indonesia.
"Let's continue to maintain unity and solidity to create peacefulness and conduciveness ahead of the 2024 simultaneous Pilkada throughout Indonesia," head of the Polri's public information bureau, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said here on Tuesday.
Andiko added that the community needs to continue to work together and reinforce diversity to prevent social polarization.
He also praised communities that have maintained a bond of unity.
"The Polri would like to thank for the prayers and the participation of all stakeholders who have kept the security and public order situation conducive," he said.
He also emphasized that his side is committed to maintaining public security during the election period.
"The National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI) throughout Indonesia are ready to maintain security during the 2024 Pilkada until it is finished," he said.
The Polri has also formed the Nusantara cooling system task force to prevent polarization during the Pilkada.
The task force has carried out efforts to prevent social divisions by emphasizing diversity and tolerance and involving religious, traditional, and community leaders to promote a safe, peaceful, and smooth Pilkada.
Head of the Nusantara cooling system task force, Brigadier General Rudy Syafirudin, said that the message of maintaining peaceful elections by community and religious leaders would be accepted well by the society.
