"(In the meeting related to DBON) earlier, we decided to focus on how to actively involve educational institutions. It is related to facilities and the curriculum, in particular," he told the media here on Wednesday.
The decision to involve educational institutions in the phase two implementation of DBON, he said, was one of the results of the ministerial meeting. The meeting involved 12 ministries and was presided over by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Minister Ariotedjo explained that the ministerial meeting was held to reaffirm the commitment to the DBON's second phase implementation during President Prabowo Subianto's term.
In the second phase, he said, all government agencies and ministries listed in the presidential regulation on DBON will have specific duties and functions to carry out, starting from the upstream level (namely, sports coaching) to the downstream level (the sports industry).
Giving an example, he said that ministries in the education sector will play a role in preparing the curriculum and supporting facilities for sports development. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health will take care of health services for athletes and the community.
Ariotedjo disclosed that the government will formulate the phase two DBON implementation based on the evaluation and changes recommended during the first phase.
The second phase will also focus on priority sports to build achievements at international competitions such as the Asian Games, Olympics, and World Cup.
Since 2023, DBON phase one has been implemented from the central to provincial levels, so phase two will focus on the provincial level downwards, that is, districts/cities, the minister informed.
