"I believe that every meeting is good, especially one that brings together two national figures. Of course, President Prabowo Subianto is keen on communicating and discussing crucial matters (with other figures) for our country's sake," he remarked in Jakarta on Sunday.
AHY made the statement in connection with the recent meeting between President Prabowo and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
The son of former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) remarked that he is convinced that all national leaders share the same hope of making Indonesia a prosperous country.
"Everyone, including former presidents Mr. Jokowi and Mr. SBY, hopes that the administration of President Prabowo Subianto will be successful," he pointed out.
On that note, he highlighted the importance of other national figures emulating President Prabowo's initiative to maintain relations with fellow politicians.
"Because all leaders share the same dream. They all expect Indonesia to genuinely transform into a prosperous and just country," he stressed.
Earlier, former president Jokowi joined a dinner at the residence of President Prabowo on Kertanegara Street, Jakarta, on Friday (December 6) night at the invitation of the head of state.
Following the meeting, Prabowo personally escorted Jokowi to a vehicle readied outside the dinner venue at around 9 p.m. local time.
"I invited Mr. Jokowi to a dinner after learning about his visit to Jakarta," the president said. "I have visited his residence in Solo, and now I welcome him here."
When asked about the possibility of Jokowi joining his Gerindra Party, Prabowo noted that his side is open to everyone.
"Gerindra is open, but we cannot force him (Jokowi) to join us," he told reporters.
