"We have coordinated with the port (operators) to ensure the service and security readiness at the Ketapang and Gilimanuk Ports, which are sea route gates for tourists, in welcoming Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025," Puspa said in the ministry's statement here on Sunday.
During her visit to the ports on Saturday (December 14), Puspa reviewed the readiness and completeness of facilities and infrastructure prepared at Ketapang Port and Gilimanuk Port.
She inspected the arrival flow, ferry arrival, toilet cleanliness, and other facilities that can support the comfort of all tourists, as well as monitoring rooms and customer service to breastfeeding rooms.
The deputy minister also reviewed the Christmas and New Year period posts, which are operated in collaboration with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Police, and the Ministry of Tourism.
On that occasion, she asked PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry and other related cross-sector stakeholders to actively coordinate with BMKG to anticipate weather dynamics that can change at any time.
"So there would be a contingency plan if something unwanted happens; everyone must be ready," Puspa said.
In order to support the year-end holiday smoothness, the Ministry of Tourism has issued the circular letter Number SE/1//PP.03.00/MP/2024 concerning the implementation of safe, comfortable, and fun tourism activities during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 celebrations.
Puspa said that the circular issuance is aimed at providing prime service and ensuring secure and exciting tourism for all.
