This was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), after attending a meeting on Monday.
"The President called on related ministries and stakeholders on (monitoring) the safety and security of Christmas and New Year (activities), especially ensuring all Christians can worship properly with comfort and safety," he informed.
According to AHY, the government has made several preparations to ensure smooth travel during the upcoming holiday period.
The government will focus on identifying challenges related to travel, which is predicted to experience a significant increase, including by securing vital locations, such as places of worship and public travel routes, he informed.
In addition, AHY said that the police chief outlined preparations made by his force, with support from the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), to secure various locations, including land, sea, air, and train transportation.

The Minister of Transportation also reported that all transportation facilities and infrastructures have been prepared to accommodate the estimated 110 million people's movement, he added.
"We will monitor through the command center and posts set up at various vulnerable locations that require better traffic control," he said.
In terms of infrastructure, he informed that the Minister of Public Works is ensuring the readiness and condition of all toll roads and national roads.
AHY also emphasized that the availability of fuel and electricity during Christmas and New Year is guaranteed to be safe and stable, with anticipatory steps prepared.
"From the trade sector, the prices of basic necessities are expected to remain stable as well," he added.
