According to the VP Secretariat statement received here on Sunday, VP Gibran's working visit agenda was to follow up on President Prabowo Subianto's directive to ensure a safe year-end celebration.
"This is President Prabowo's directive for Christmas preparations in the last exclusive meeting. We want this year's Christmas celebration to run smoothly, safely, and comfortably," he said when visiting the youth Christmas celebration at the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) in Wahid Hasyim, Tanah Abang.
VP Gibran said he would continue to check the preparations for the Christmas and New Year celebrations in various regions.
Previously, he has visited several cities on Java Island to check the year-end holiday preparations.
"We want to ensure that Christmas and New Year can run smoothly. We will also visit regions outside the (Java) island as well," he said.
With careful preparations, he hoped that the public could enjoy the year-end holidays without obstacles, including in terms of smooth transportation flow.
"We want to ensure that everything is safe during the holiday, no traffic jam," he said.
Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government said it would prepare as many as 4,200 officers to be on standby at various points to secure Jakarta during the Christmas and New Year celebration period.
The provincial government will also cooperate with the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to anticipate extreme weather potential during the period.
