"This collaboration reflects the digital platforms' commitment to bringing positive impacts to the Indonesian public," Komdigi Minister Meutya Hafid noted in her office's statement cited here on Tuesday.
She affirmed that the Komdigi Ministry is all set to assume the role of a prominent institution in ensuring the broad coverage of the flagship program of President Prabowo Subianto's administration.
"The Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry is ready to serve as a connector, building synergy between digital platforms and our ecosystem in a bid to bring this program to regions in need," she stated.
In the same statement, the managing director of an online taxi platform in Indonesia, Neneng Goenadi, highlighted that her company had rolled out a trial of the meals program in Kebumen, Central Java; Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta; and Minahasa, North Sulawesi.
She revealed that the trials targeted 1,500 students and 126 teachers in seven schools.
"Aligning with Madam Minister's directive, we conducted the trials with three focuses: the use of end-to-end technology, the fulfillment of hygiene and nutritional standards set by the National Nutrition Agency, and the assessment of socio-economic impacts," Goenadi expounded.
Meanwhile, the president director of an e-wallet provider, Karaniya Dharmasaputra, stated that digital technologies play a pivotal role in the success of the national program.
Dharmasaputra accentuated his company's commitment to supporting the government's program by making the most of its technologies to pursue transparency and efficiency in the distribution of free nutritious meals.
According to the plan, the government will roll out the Free Nutritious Meals program starting from January next year using a budget of Rp71 trillion (over US$1 billion) managed by the National Nutrition Agency.
Targeting schoolchildren, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers, the program aims to improve people's nutritional intake and pave the way for a healthier generation, among other things.
