Jakarta (ANTARA) - The implementation and realization of the 2024 State Budget were managed properly amid the uncertainties and pressure on the global economy, according to President Prabowo Subianto.

"It turns out that we can still manage state finances prudently, wisely, carefully, and we are still able to control our deficit within a corridor that is still quite careful," Prabowo informed at a press conference here on Tuesday.

He said that cash management from the 2024 State Budget will officially close at 00.00 western Indonesia time (GMT+7) on Wednesday (January 1, 2025).

During a meeting with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and some other ministers, Prabowo received a report on state revenues from taxation as well as customs and non-tax state revenues.

Based on the discussion, he observed that the state finances were managed wisely amid the pressure on the global economy, which affected the prices of commodities, including oil and gas, this year.

Minister Indrawati said that the State Budget experienced a deficit of Rp401.8 trillion or 1.81 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) as of November 2024.

Despite the deficit, the primary balance still recorded a surplus of Rp47.1 trillion, she informed.
