Deputy of Distribution and Service Statistics at BPS Pudji Ismartini noted in a press conference here on Thursday that the number reflected an increase of 20.7 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
She highlighted that the number of foreign tourists arriving in November was 1.09 million, representing an 8.58 percent decrease from the previous month.
After experiencing an upward trend since April 2024, foreign tourist arrivals began to decline from September to November due to the low season.
In terms of visitor demographics, Malaysian tourists led visitor arrivals in November, reaching 174.27 thousand people.

Meanwhile, between January and November 2024, domestic tourist trips reached 920 million, up 22.81 percent from the same timeframe in 2023.
Java Island remained the most popular destination for domestic travelers in November 2024, attracting 56.32 million visits. Within Java, East Java Province led with 16.33 million visits.
Furthermore, BPS recorded 749,830 outbound tourist trips to other countries in November 2024.
"Outbound tourist trips experienced an increase of 13.74 percent annually. However, the number is still below the condition before the COVID-19 pandemic," she remarked.
In November 2024, Malaysia was the main destination of Indonesian outbound tourists, constituting 28.29 percent of the total, followed by Saudi Arabia, with 16.99 percent, and Singapore, 13.86 percent.
