Sugiono said that amid the current global uncertainty, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Bank have projected that Indonesia's economy would continue to grow positively at above 5 percent, higher than the global economic average.
This indicates that Indonesia's economic resilience is quite stable and maintained well. Thus, economic stability will be a solid foundation for domestic development and, at the same time, become a strong capital for Indonesia to actively contribute to world peace and prosperity.
He emphasized that achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth to achieve a developed country status is a commitment of the Indonesian government.
The minister further said that Indonesia's diplomacy will be proactive and flexible in encouraging national economic transformation based on justice, self-sufficiency, and mutually beneficial partnerships while promoting resilience, innovation, and inclusion.
He added that Indonesia's economic diplomacy will push for fair trade, market expansion for Indonesian products abroad, and attract investments that support national priorities.
Therefore, to increase economic cooperation in various non-traditional market sectors, Indonesia is focusing on strengthening strategic partnerships with non-traditional market partners as well as becoming a destination for outbound investment.
"Indonesia is also committed to completing ongoing international trade agreements to reduce trade tensions and provide protection for all business actors, including MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises)," he said.
Furthermore, the minister underscored that Indonesia will continue to play an active role in global partnerships to support national policies for food sovereignty, energy resilience, and self-sufficiency.
