The president's priorities include achieving food and energy self-sufficiency, downstreaming and industrializing natural resources, eradicating hunger, and enhancing defense capabilities.
"We are open if Japan wishes to participate in Indonesia's economic development going forward," Prabowo stated during the bilateral meeting.
On the same occasion, the president also expressed his gratitude for Japan's contribution and support in development programs in various fields in Indonesia and expressed hope that these initiatives will continue.
The bilateral meeting between the Indonesian and Japanese governments took place after a tête-à-tête meeting between the two leaders at the president's office.
During the meeting, the Indonesian delegation comprised several ministers of the Red and White cabinet, including Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan P. Roeslani.
Meanwhile, the Japanese delegation included Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Aoki Kazuhiko, Secretary General of the National Security Secretariat Akiba Takeo, and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Mori Masafumi, among other officials.
Prime Minister Ishiba arrived at the Bogor Palace at around 10 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) after paying a visit to the Main National Heroes Cemetery in Jakarta.
Earlier, the prime minister and his wife Yoshiko landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, at 5 p.m. WIB on Friday (January 10).
After meeting President Prabowo at the Bogor Palace, he will return to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday afternoon, concluding his state visit to Indonesia.
