"God willing, we ask for prayers. We hope to be ready to operate (PDN) by the end of March," she said here on Monday.
She informed that her ministry has been working for the past two months to meet the deadline.
Minister Hafid emphasized that Indonesia will have a more advanced data center system once the National Data Center in Cikarang, West Java, is completed.
During a working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) in early November 2024, Hafid had said that the PDN's operation may be delayed beyond the initial plan, which was for January this year.
She added that other PDN locations could not be disclosed to the public for security reasons.
"We already know that the first (PDN) site is in Cikarang, but regarding the location of the other national data center, we cannot share that information publicly," she explained.
"This is crucial for maintaining national security and interest. We will explain this to Commission I," she added.
The construction of the National Data Center is part of the government's efforts to enhance digital sovereignty and support the acceleration of digital transformation across various sectors.
The PDN in Cikarang will be the first data center owned by the government.
With its establishment, data from ministries and government agencies, which are currently separated, will be integrated.
The national data center is expected to improve the efficiency of government data management and enhance the delivery of digital services to the public.
