Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian House of Representatives' (DPR RI's) Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad engaged in discussions regarding cooperation in food and renewable energy with Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Friday.

"We discussed renewable energy, food, and cooperation in various fields," Ahmad remarked after a meeting with Ambassador Seng.

He noted that Singapore had earlier held a meeting with several Indonesian ministers to explore cooperation opportunities.

"Singapore has also met with Coordinating Minister for Economy Affairs Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia; and Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani. They discussed several matters, including investment," Ahmad explained.

However, Ahmad clarified that no agreement was reached during the recent meeting as the focus was primarily on coordination regarding the future of new and renewable energy (NRE).

"The cooperation talks will be conducted (at the) G to G (government-to-government level). We just discussed topics regarding coordination and the future of NRE," he emphasized.

He also noted that no discussion about the free nutritious meal program (MBG) took place during the meeting with Ambassador Seng.

"We did not discuss about MBG. We only discussed NRE," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Seng expressed his gratitude for the warm reception during his visit to the parliament.

He affirmed that the visit aims to communicate developments in cooperation in various fields, including NRE, between Indonesia and Singapore.

The parliament can hopefully support government activities in regulating economic cooperation, he remarked.

Deputy Chairman of Commission XII of DPR RI Bambang Haryadi and Deputy Chairman of Commission XI of DPR RI Mohamad Hekal were also present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Seng was accompanied by Deputy Ambassador of Singapore to Indonesia Terrence Teo and Secretary of the Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Jonathan Seng.
